I could have found track days with the SCDA or autocross with the SCCA, or something rad like that, but I've always appreciated Rallying, and I ended up checking out a RallyCross in Vermont with a buddy.
The R32 gets some action
I brought the R32 to a couple rallycrosses, and destroyed the paint. Then I brought it to an Ice Race and destroyed the front bumper cover. Then I broke the rear bumper cover doing another Rallycross.
At this point I decided it would be a good idea to bring the car onto the asphalt. Less damage, more speed, and more importantly, more seat time.

I did a couple track days at NHIS with COMSCC, during one of which I spun in the wet and scared myself a little.
I did a hillclimb at Okemo, and found that the R32 really excelled in the wet. And that Hillclimbs are GREAT FUN. I also decided during these events that 19" pimp wheels are a poor choice for performance, and my heart moved from looks to performance. So I decided to get rid of the R32.
And then there was a mini

I bought a Blue '82 Austin Mini from a dude in Chicago and drove it cross country with my friend Scott. Sadly, the Mini ended up being used for little more than a mattress carrier. It was so rusty that I could have driven it like Fred Flintstone. It did, however, introduce me to the pleasures and quirks of owning and driving one of these crazy old cars. So I got a better one that would pass tech, and which I could actually drive on the track.
It was awesome for about a week until the transmission blew up, and I started the blog.
